Scoring Rules: Entry and Voting
As I'm actually writing in support for not awarding points for entries with no accompanying vote, I see there are a few games that would drastically change if they had been scored correctly. It would actually be pretty easy for me to run an updater to score everything correctly, but I'm not a big fan of revisionist history.
For now, my plan is to leave history as it is, but this week make sure you vote if you submit an entry, or else you will not be considered a winner.

Version 4 Push and Penguins
Welcome to Version 4! Not a ton of significant upgrades yet. All the concerns I brought up in the last post were met, along with some additional bug fixes for blank entries and entries which are too large. You'll also notice some wording differences that hopefully encourage people to jump right in and start playing the game, along with some changes to the entry tables for voting and winners that hopefully make things easier to read. And, perhaps, you started reading this because it was included on the game page?
If you did, then here is your reward:

Version 3 Push, and Future Changes
Version 3 was just pushed. This version features pretty URLs and some back end code enhancements so things are running more smoothly and the code is more pleasant to work on.
The result: my attention will probably turn towards development of end user features and usability for awhile.
There are some changes I would like to see made in the next release.
Those who do not vote should not receive credit for votes their entry receives.
This would only apply to future games. This gives people a reason to actually vote instead of skipping rounds. Along with this would be a more clear indication of whether someone was a winner.
The number of votes currently granted should not be visible.
I had argued this wasn't a big deal with rikitikilorax in the comments a few weeks ago. Surprisingly not brought up in the discussion at the time is an obvious argument for hiding vote counts during voting that is nearly irrefutable if you value fairness. If you are tied for first and have not voted yet, how would you vote if you knew you were tied and how would you vote if you didn't? If you're of strong moral fiber, perhaps you would admit that the entry tied with you is actually a quality entry that deserves your vote. But if your interest is winning, then you would obviously vote for any other entry, ensuring the vote doesn't go to your toughest competitor.
Other things remain on tap.
At Molly's request, and to serve as a creepy metaphor for this site, here's a giraffe giving birth. Enjoy the plop in the first 20 seconds; it's a doozy.

Apple Core over after a long wait
The recent lapse was my bad. The email thing through me for a loop, but now that it's all settled things are progressing a little more smoothly.
Congrats to rikitikkilorax for the victory on Apple Core by harnessing the ill will of the populous towards Apple Corporation.

Orange Julius Winners
Three way tie.
Sorry that you all couldn't witness it - shouldn't have any problems now.
As a complete aside, this is what I think of when I think of Orange Julius:
